Nice solid lock. I didn't realize that the key had to be used to unscrew the lock 4-5 rotations to open lock and vis versa. Not a deal breaker, just thought it was going to be like a spring loaded shutter lock. I keep the key on a quick release chain on the key ring because it can be awkward to use with several keys on a key ring. This works excellent on a pelican type case. I bought a matching pair to keep my Harbor freight apache case that I use as a rear cargo box on my motorcycle locked and secure.
I am using this for my small boat trailer. I had a cheap combination lock and always worried about it as it sat in the boat parking lot or at home while I was away. This lock is not top end but fits my budget, it's perfect.Just a note that you use the key to unscrew the bolt, so you keep turning the key until the lock separates as shown.
This coupler lock feels sturdy and is compact. Only drawbacks that the lock is a screw drive so you have to keep spinning the key to lock and unlock it.
I never thought of someone stealing my boat on its trailer since I keep it in my garage. I'm planning on taking it on a trip and perhaps leaving it in a hotel parking lot and started looking for a lock to hamper someone from hooking it onto their hitch and taking off.I saw one that engulfs the entire nose of the hitch but that costs about $100. This isn't as good but it's a great price.It works by screwing and unscrewing a bolt with the key. It's very solid, hardened steel I think. It's also easy to keep in the truck in the glove compartment.

Works as intended. Easy to use and install. Gives you that little extra piece of mind that your trailer is locked to the truck when in use and you stop at places. Seems to be of good build quality. Wish all keys were unique, but this key is universal with other products from company. The good is one key works for all, bad is that if someone has the same thing or the key the lock is worthless. Would recommend to others that don't frequently use their trailers like me. If you use it all the time, find something with unique keys.
The key basically functions like a screw driver so it takes many turns to unlock the lock. Not as quick as other more conventional locks. Works good otherwise.

This is a nice trailer lock. It is easy to use. Locking as well as unlocking are a breeze. It holds position well and has been reliable for me. I have had other locks where the pin just fell off after a few uses. This one feels very sturdy. I suppose someone could potentially cut it if they got some bolt cutters in at an odd angle, but I feel my trailer is pretty safe with this lock under most circumstances.
Surprised to see a well made metal lock. It’s a screw type opening but works well. It will definitely slow down the removal by unwanted guests if you know what I mean.
